ONE of the region's leading businessmen has been appointed dean of the University of Sunderland's Faculty of Business and law. Prof Callaghan, who takes up his role in December, already has strong links with the university having worked during the 1990s in a number of roles, including as Deputy Director for the Centre for International Education, with key responsibilities including the worldwide marketing and promotion of the university. He has complemented his role as CEO of Sunderland Software City with that of Professor of Software Enterprise in the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
