Autel Jp701 Eu702 Us703 Fr704 Update Software
This product is available for download. Contains the records 'MaxiDiag EU702 / JP701 / US703 / FR704' to share in the handheld scanner up to 100,000 times the vehicle.
Never heard of this model before. Having a quick look online I found this: MD801 = JP701 + EU702 + US703 + FR704 which indicates it's 4 in 1. In that case it should be ok.
JP701, EU702, US703, FR704 are all exactly the same hardware but different software for different cars. I bought the JP701 scan tool (japanese cars) and I loaded the Volvo file (ask me if you need it) and some other European cars. So my scan tool is effectively an EU702 and a FR704 and of course a JP701. Didn't bother with US cars file for obvious reasons. Never heard of this model before. Sounds like it should be fine then, thanks gatos. Just to add something. If you can get hold of the MD801 cheaper than the EU702 then go for it. If it is more, then I would rather go for the EU702. If I was you, I would do a quick search to make 100% sure that the EU702 works with your 1999 car.

If you can confirm for sure that it does, then I can assume that the MD801 will work too. Just to let you know, The EU702 works nicely with petrol cars but cannot communicate with Diesel ones. It will still reset the SRS and Service light and access the ABS system but it will not read any engine codes of diesel cars.
Hi gato, does the EU702 erase codes and turn off warning lights? Autels website says so but the sellers page just mentions reading. Cheers Yes it does. I have the JP701 (exactly the same as EU702), and I have loaded the Volvo file in it. It resets codes for petrol engines, but since it cannot read the S/V40 diesel engine ones up to 2004, it will not reset them either. Don't only search for EU702.
Search for any of them JP701, EU702, US703 and FR704. I can then send you the files for the EU702 and you can load them in a few minutes. I was patient with mine and paid £100 which was not bad at all. I think £150+ is a bit too much. I have reset the SRS light on my car and two more Volvo forum members since I got it. In on of the cars I reset the SRS and some engine intermittent faults and then rescanned it after a drive 20 minutes later and all was clear.
Hope this helps. Never heard of this model before. Having a quick look online I found this: MD801 = JP701 + EU702 + US703 + FR704 which indicates it's 4 in 1.

Didn't bother with US cars file for obvious reasons. I'm looking for the files for this scanner - Can I ask for help? Thanks in advance. Many thanks, esp seeing as i have just clocked a FR704 @ £80 with a few days left, (tho it has to be said,it Wont feel right driving the car without the little red light ) Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yeah I saw it as it has come up in my Autosearch tool on that place.:) Just hope that people are not going to outbid each other in this forum.

Any help you need feel free to ask. Also wanted to add that you will not be able to load all the files on the scanner due to the internal memory space. This however is not a problem, as you can add and remove files on the scanner by syncing it with your computer. So for obvious reasons I have not loaded any of the American cars on it and I left out one car make (can't remember which) because it was large in size.
Volvo is the one that matters and mainly the other Euro cars that most of my friends have. I ordered the 702 and received it today. Impressive unit, had no trouble connecting to car. Looks to be two options can be selected first is OEBD and second is under volvo. It picked up a few codes which I hope somebody can help with.

Literally just about to order one and I spotted this bombshell. I've not seen the diesel shortcoming mentioned anywhere until now. Is it well known/documented or is that your first hand experience gatos? It's an engine code in particular I'm hoping to investigate and remedy on my 2002 S60 D5. It's an engine code in particular I'm hoping to investigate and remedy on my 2002 S60 D5. I was refering to the 2000-2004 S40 and V40 1.9D only. Even though they have a popular Bosch ECU, the S40 and V40 1.9D have a very odd configuration, making it very difficult to read the engine codes. And yes, it is from 1st hand experience. The S60 D5 is completely different and I can see why it shouldn't work. Why don't you buy a Volvo DICE? Cheaper and much better than the Autel.

EU702 very good but I only used it 6 times (in 15 months) and now the display won't work! The gizmo works when hooked to a laptop but the display does not transfer to the laptop screen so is rendered useless! It probably isn't economical to send for repair, that's why I bought a Foxwell 630. With EU702 its a pain to keep removing and adding vehicles to the memory via the laptop if you work on a range of cars.
The Volvo file is huge, the biggest on the disc IIRC so 2 or 3 others have to be taken off. I think I'll be doing the same thing. I don't really want to get into buying a knockoff dice and the install issues I've read about are putting me off too.
Having owned both the EU702 (which is the same as the MD801, JP701 etc) and the DICE, I would say that the DICE is soooo much better and you can do a lot more things to your car. In my case though, with the 1.9D, the Eu702 could not read any engine codes at all. So it was a no brainer to get a DICE. The advantage of the EU702 is that it can also read other models. In case your SRS module is faulty, the EU702 will not be able to reset the SRS light and will not be able to diagnose the actual fault.
If you can source a decent quality DICE, you will be ok. Positive thing about the Autel is that you don't need a computer to connect it to, it works on many different car makes and models and it's simple to use. Positive thing about the DICE is that it gives you exact codes and with the help of VIDA, it's easier to pinpoint the problem.
You can also program different CEM, DIM, CCM values and many other small things that can be helpful from time to time. Installing VIDA can be a bit confusing for the not so computer literate people and it takes a bit of time to get used to the layout of VIDA.and I think the only difference over the 801 is the ability to read model years beyond 2008, oh and a nicer display. Makes the £125 I paid for my MD801 look like a bargain. You can get a fake or 'grey import' 802 for £150 - £200. I don't know why but the fakes all have stickers on the back with numbers/letters in a font that seems to be common to all far eastern knock-offs. Just been looking around google and I can't actually find a genuine 802 for sale!
Even some of the £400 plus ones would appear to be suspect! This is a fake http://www.obdtool.co.uk/upload/pro/maxidiag-elite-md802-ds-model-03.jpg. Just to add something. If you can get hold of the MD801 cheaper than the EU702 then go for it. If it is more, then I would rather go for the EU702.

My car is a Volvo S40 -2002- 1.9 diesel. The airbags light came up (is on).
I would like to know if this readers AUTEL MD801 or FOXWELL NT600 can read the fault (identify the code and where is the problem) and reset it ( turn off the light)? Any help will be very welcome. Many thanks and happy new year. You can get a fake or 'grey import' 802 for £150 - £200. This is a fake the link is dead. AUTEL tech company is based in China, original made by Chinese, yes? If it is a clone, why does it comes with register account and password to login into autel website to run an upgrade?
'AUTEL' and 'FOXWELL' are quite similar, the only difference i can see is FOXWELL scanner is designed to meet market demand (specific for Asia, Europe, America etc), but AUTEL does not. You add yours.
